Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data TeamLink collects when you use the platform, how we use it, and what rights you have over your information. TeamLink (“we”, “our”, “us”) is the data controller for personal data collected through teamlink.gg.

Information We Collect

Account Data

When you create an account, we collect your username and email address. Authentication is handled entirely by Supabase Authentication — passwords are never accessible to TeamLink and are never stored in plain text.

Profile Information

Information you voluntarily add to your profile may include:

Display name, biography, and headline
Profile photo (avatar)
Game roles, skills, and region
Player status (LFT — Looking for Team, LFP — Looking for Players, In Team)
Links to external profiles and social accounts

This information is visible to other TeamLink users according to your settings.

Steam Account

If you connect your Steam account, we store your Steam ID — a publicly visible identifier associated with your Steam profile. This is used to display a Steam verification badge on your TeamLink profile.

We do not access your Steam games library, friends list, wallet, inventory, or any private Steam data.

FACEIT Account

If you connect your FACEIT account, we fetch and store your FACEIT skill level and ELO rating from the public FACEIT API. This data is displayed on your profile as a trust and credibility signal.

We do not access your FACEIT match history, friends, messages, or account credentials.

User-Generated Content

We store content you create on TeamLink, including:

Posts and post text
Comments on posts
Reactions to posts
Direct messages you send and receive
Teams you create or manage
Follow relationships between accounts

Notifications

We store notification records to deliver activity updates, such as new followers, reactions, mentions, and team invitations.

Technical Data

We automatically collect limited technical data when you use TeamLink:

IP address (used by Supabase for authentication security)
Browser type and device information (standard server logs)

We do not use tracking pixels, behavioral analytics, advertising cookies, or fingerprinting.

How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect to:

Create and maintain your account
Display your public profile to other users
Deliver platform features including posts, messages, notifications, and teams
Verify your connected accounts (Steam, FACEIT)
Prevent abuse, spam, and impersonation
Maintain platform security and integrity
Respond to support requests and moderation reports

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or third-party marketing services.

Data Storage and Security

TeamLink uses Supabase as our backend and authentication infrastructure. Your data is stored in Supabase databases hosted in the West EU (Ireland) region.

Supabase is SOC 2 Type II compliant and adheres to EU data protection standards. For details, see supabase.com/privacy.

We apply the following security practices:

Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
Database access is restricted to authenticated requests
All data is transmitted over HTTPS
Row-level security policies restrict data access per user

Third-Party Services

Supabase

Our database and authentication provider. Supabase processes personal data on our behalf as a data processor under a Data Processing Agreement (DPA).

Steam (Valve Corporation)

We use Steam’s OpenID system for optional account linking. When you connect Steam, Steam shares your Steam ID with us. We do not receive your Steam password. Your use of Steam is governed by the Steam Subscriber Agreement.

FACEIT (ESL FACEIT Group)

We use the public FACEIT API to retrieve your skill level and ELO. No FACEIT credentials are shared with us. Your use of FACEIT is governed by FACEIT’s Privacy Policy.

TeamLink is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a partner of Valve Corporation or ESL FACEIT Group.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

If you request account deletion:

Your profile, posts, comments, and messages will be removed
Some technical logs may be retained for a limited period for security purposes

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Rectification — Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
Erasure — Request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”)
Portability — Request your data in a portable, machine-readable format
Objection — Object to certain types of processing of your personal data
Restriction — Request that we limit how we use your data in certain circumstances

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish supervisory authority, the Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY), if you believe we have processed your data unlawfully.

Children's Privacy

You must be at least 13 years old to create a TeamLink account. TeamLink is not intended for users under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete that account and associated data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of TeamLink after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the platform.
